- ➤ Local police and nonprofits across Lake Norman will offer holiday help to families in need, including a Shop with a Cop event (hosted by Davidson Police at Target on Sam Furr Road on Dec. 13) and Adopt-A-Family programs run by Cornelius PD. Eligible families and donors must apply on a first-come, first-served basis and follow specific rules (such as shopping with a parent and making at least one purchase) until Dec. 12. - ➤ Families in Mooresville will have a chance to sell outgrown toys and clothing during the Sail Again Children’s Consignment spring event from January 28 to February 1 at the Charles Mack Citizen Center — participants can register online for $15 and use the proceeds to offset holiday spending. - ➤ The Town of Mooresville proclaimed November as Hospice and Palliative Care Month on November 3 while the City of Statesville recognized November 20 as Children’s Grief Awareness Day, marking the first such honor in Iredell County.
