COMMUNITY NEWS

  • On Tuesday, the Iredell County Community Foundation awarded $180,000 in grants to 27 local nonprofits to support programs in education, food, nutrition, agriculture, housing, and human services. The grants will help strengthen community programs and support groups like Hope of Mooresville—boosting local resources.  Iredell Free News
  • The Mooresville Tuesday Morning Rotary Club donated $10,000 to Kindness Closet to help seniors get basic hygiene items—club members will also help package the Senior Hygiene Kits.  Mooresville Citizen

ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Firefighters from Mooresville, South Iredell, Mount Mourne, and Shepherds joined nine Rowan County crews at 1:10 p.m. Monday on Deal Road to battle a structure fire that destroyed two buildings and killed a horse—cause is under investigation.  Iredell Free News

  • Mooresville's Nick Prestia uses his soulful voice to boost the local music scene as he performs with WAVES Entertainment — he moved from Franklin three years ago and now leads his band Untethered Soul with a debut album set for 2026 while inviting local musicians to join jam sessions.  Mooresville Citizen

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Mooresville town board approved a contract on November 17 to upgrade Willow Valley Park by adding a new restroom, accessible playground, upgraded basketball court, walking trails, and improved stormwater flow, and the park will be renamed Eastern Heights Park with work set to begin late this year and finish on June 12. The board also approved rezonings for two new residential developments—one for 157 homes designed for residents 55 and older and another for 77 homes near Lake Norman High School.  Mooresville Citizen
  • I-CARE, Inc. plans to file a Community Services Block Grant application on December 1 to ask for $259077—intended to provide services to low-income citizens in Iredell County following its board approval on November 20.  Iredell Free News
