Here's your local news at a glance for Sunday, the 30th of November.
Good morning, Mooresville.
🏘️ Community
Iredell County Community Foundation awarded $180K in grants to 27 nonprofits to drive long-term change in the community — a decision that underlines its pledge to support local groups — and promises lasting impact.
🎭 Culture
The Iredell Arts Council recently received an $850 donation from JMS Southeast Inc. and Statesville Process Instruments Inc (which collects all profits from a 100% markup on monthly snack and drink vending machine sales).
The funds will support local arts programs (including public art, community programming and the annual Full Bloom Film Festival) in Iredell County.
🎓 Education
Superintendent Jeff James finished his fifth year leading I-SS during the pandemic—his swift actions saved $2.2 million, boosted pay for teachers, and secured over $20 million in federal grants.
