Reading Buddies!

The Charlotte Mecklenburg Library invites families to participate in two engaging programs designed to support children's reading and parenting skills.

**Reading Buddies!** is a program aimed at school-aged children (K-5th grade), where they can sign up for 30-minute reading sessions every Tuesday from 11 AM to 12 PM, starting June 1st. During these sessions, library volunteers will read aloud, fostering a love for reading through interactive discussions, vocabulary building, and relatable connections. Children are encouraged to attend weekly, with guidelines in place regarding attendance and prior notification for absences.

In addition, the **Triple P Parenting Series**, offered in partnership with Thompson Child & Family Focus, is a free program designed to help parents cultivate strong relationships and manage children's behavior effectively. This series will meet weekly on Wednesdays from 5:30 PM to 7:30 PM at the Sugar Creek Library, providing free childcare and meals for all attendees. While the first four classes will be in person, the latter sessions will be held virtually, concluding with a celebration for families on November 4th.
