- ➤ Mooresville’s Art Academy of Southlake opened in March to offer beginner art training based on a three-part model of knowledge, guided practice, and personal commitment; the academy holds weekly classes including youth drawing on Tuesdays and Wednesdays (5:15 to 6:15 p.m.) and painting sessions for preteens, teens and adults (Saturdays 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. and additional evenings). - ➤ The Mooresville Graded School District Board approved fee changes for the 2025-2026 school year Tuesday that raised out-of-district tuition to $2,333.06, increased the marching band fee to $250, set the laptop fee at $20, and lowered wrap-around care fees for EC Pre-K from $375 to $180. They also approved a three-year i-Ready contract for grades K-9, renewed school nutrition bids, maintained current facility fees, updated local AIG and CTE plans, and honored Cindy Tyler with an Above and Beyond Award — steps that will guide the district’s future operations.
