The district says it believes there's no "immediate threat to the health or safety of any students or staff" regarding indoor air quality. Administrators think the problems stemmed from inoperable HVAC units, which have been repaired. Chief Operations Officer Mark Shinkaruk told the school board the district was notified in late July and responded within 24 hours.
- Air ducts and air handlers: professionally cleaned while building is empty
- Fine mist microbial cleaning product: applied throughout the building
- Air scrubbers: running 48-72 consecutive hours
- HVAC filters: replaced throughout the building
- Follow-up air testing: results expected in about one week
